Flew Alitalia roundtrip from Newark Airport to Rome. Leaving the US wasn't bad -- full of cheerful passengers. Coming back was a nightmare. I left three hours to board and barely got on the plane in time. The check in line merged all passengers flying to the US, so the line was super long. Security check in had only one person on duty , so security was a nightmare. When I finally got to the boarding gate, there was a mass of people milling around waiting to get on buses to take us to the plane. No rows were called, no order at all. So everybody just pushed to get on the buses. For no reason, the flight left one hour late. Once on the airline, the media was impossible to figure out. No instructions, no help. When I finally figured it out, the movie stopped for no apparent reason and it was impossible to get back to the part where I left off. Food was fairly bad and the service was less than indifferent. Would not fly Alitalia again.
