I want some childrens christmas decortations and saw a box and tried to order and pay for the item. Had to open an account, this was on the 26 November 2010. On or around the 19/20th December I received the decorations with a piece of paper with the amount on, but not a bill. Thought nothing of it and in January 2011 thought that I should pay this bill of £29.98. Phoned up customer service and asked about a bill and was told I was behind by 1 month. Asked how and they told me that I got billed on the 26 November when I opened the account. I asked were is my statement, to find they had sent it on the 2nd Dec almost 17ish days before I got my product was a bit of a shock, then they told me I had a charge of £21...not having this I had a 'nice' chat and they took it off 'this once' yeah like i am going to order again! so i paid the whole bill off. Thought that was the end of the matter. Now here is when the problem is now...Studio made a mark on my credit file for the late payment from November!!!!! No one told me ever that anything had gone on my file and it does really cause a problem. The credit file company are dealing with it, but it says on there now that I am or could be a problem with credit and they should be careful in considering me for credit..standard words when you dispute something.
So I have noticed that there are others who have had the some problem as me on this site, if you do not check your credit file, studio like places little marks on credit files!!! even just one mark to say you have not paid a bill will stop you getting anything...and it stays on there for ages.
Sorry for going on, but I would hate anyone else getting problems in the future because of a company that just likes to take your money and charge you fees and then mark you for their pleasure.
