Good Points
Cheap to buy.

Bad Points
Vibration in handle bars. Foot pegs are too high for touring any distance. Handle bars are too low and too far forward. Very old design, this was first sold in 1986. Four carbs, no injection. Top heavy. Speed wobble at 120mph design fault. Can't get a choice of tyres.

General Comments
I bought this bike based on its price alone, it was great value, but if I'm brutally honest it was a downward spiral from then on.


Mine had 35000 miles which isn't a lot but the amount of problems that came with this model were astounding. The bike has a "well reported vibration through the bars" thats going to cost you £85 to try and fix, although it'll never go away. Another well known problem is the height of the foot pegs/seat. Again you can fix this if you throw enough money at it. All the fasteners on the fairing break if you try to remove the fairing...I could go on - there are many MANY reason why this is not a good bike to buy.


To ride the bike is at the bottom of the OK scale, when you commit to a corner don't think you'll be able to flick it around that slippery manhole cover, as it won't. At low speed the high/weight in a full tank means that many get dropped and a new mirror is almost £100. Rear tyres get eaten quickly, I used two in 6 months but used the bike a lot, but you try finding a choice in the size you need. Maybe 2 or 3 to choose from.


Save yourself the disappointment and buy a more modern second-hand tourer for the same money with a few more miles. It'll be a better bike in every respect.
