I have a dispute going on at the moment with Thomas Cook as they have informed me of building work taking place next to our hotel. I have been told that I can change my holiday to another accomadation or destination or have a full refund, TC told me this on Friday, I have called them today and they now tell me the opposite and insist I have been wrongly informed, we have spent hours researching other options and decided on Turkey as we found a hotel with reviews as good as the one we had booked in egypt, we are now told we have to go to egypt. Having checked with consumer direct, they are obliged to offer an alternative of the same standard anywhere (not just egypt) if we are not happy with this we are entitled to a full refund. It is only 6 weeks till our hol so fingers crossed. For anyone calling TC customer service, here is an alternative landline number which I have been using insted of premium rate, you can find any alternative number for any premium rate number on say no to 0870, I havnt used a premium rate number for ages.
