“Brown material went orange in four months! "Direct...”

The covers I ordered (Madrid sofa and chair, Kingston Mocha) have faded (on

the chair, on the arms). Customer service said this was because of direct

sunlight, as the chair is in the window. She said I should have bought

leather if I wanted the colour to stand up to sunlight better. This fading

has happened after four months!!

The last chair I had from a big sofa retailer, in the same position, was

fine for twelve years, only fading slightly during the last year or so (and

after several washes of a 'non-washable' fabric).

I am particularly disappointed as I have found it very difficult to find

sofas etc with washable covers -- we booked a holiday in the Cotswolds

specially to be able to visit Sofasofa's showroom in Wales and we were so

pleased to get what we wanted re design, plain colours and removable

washable colours.

They want me to return the covers, but if I get a replacement set I don't

see how that will improve things, as there is nowhere else for me to put the

chair but in the window. It would have made a big difference to me if they

had mentioned the difficulty with direct sunlight at point of sale, as this

is clearly not a problem with ALL fabrics.
