“Poor afterservice”

We had our Valiant boiler supplied, installed and commissioned by Swale Heating and we have recently discovered that the chimney flue that exits through the garage roof is leaking when it rains.

Despite explaining the problem to the online chat line, the engineer they sent didn't have a ladder so he couldn't get onto the roof.

We have just had a second engineer attendance 5 days later and he said he can't do the repair because he hasn't got a sealant that can be used on a wet area (despite it being a roof sealant that is needed). The engineer said he would have to return when it hasn't been raining, I explained to him that we have already had to wait in on two occassions and what happenns if another appointment is made and it rains on that day? Surely a sealant that can be applied in all whethers should be supplied to the engineer?

In the meantime the roof is still leaking rainwater onto the top of the boiler which is operating, Swale have confirmed to me in writing that it is howerver safe.

Trying to get a response on the telephone can mean a very long wait indeed in my experience and I have found that no matter when you call Swale Heating you get an automated response to the effect "we are currently experiencing a high volume of calls"...
