“I've had this phone since 07/06 and I've had problems...”

I've had this phone since 07/06 and I've had problems with incoming calls since right after the 1st month of owning the phone. The problem is that whenever someone would call my phone it wouldn't ring. The ringer is set on HIGH and still nothing. However, when you go into the phone log it would list the phone call as being received not missed. I only noticed it when the caller would leave me a voice mail and I'd see the VM indicator on the screen. So bizarre. I took it into my provider and they uploaded "updates" . It worked after that but the same problem keeps coming back. I brought it in a couple times and each time reload the update. The only way I can resolve this on my own is by removing the battery for a minute and putting it back in. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
