“Del Paso Stella's”

written by Cynthiai230 on 16/10/2016

I am an experienced car renter in Malaga. I ALWAYS look for: no excess. I advised my daughter to rent her car with del Paso in Malaga because of my former positive experience with Del Paso and the price at that time. While booking, a pop up screens appears with 3 choices: "basic, flex pack, all inclusive". In the column "excess" it says: "excess required" (basic), "excess required" (flex pack) and: "No excess" (all inclusive). The price to get "all inclusive" was twice the rental price of the car (Group A). To be 100% sure, I know a lot of horrible storms about car rent in Malaga, I phoned del Paso before we made the booking, and they confirmed me: if you pay for the all inclusive package there is no exces, what so ever.
My daughter was involved in a car accident and within some hours in her credit card appears, from Del Paso, two amounts. 1000€ and 300€. On the bottom of the contract I read: " tiene una franquicia de 1000€". 300€ I don't know. The contract was signed in a very busy environment. My daughter doesn't read or speak Spanish. Every thing is in English, but this sentence is Spanish. The information in the contract (1000€ excess) is totally different from the information while booking at delpasocarhire (No excess). It is misleading.

After some hours del Paso and several telephone calls, Del Paso brought another car to her apartment and they wanted her to sign, not for the new car, but for a bill that contains "FIANZA 1300€". She doesn't read Spanish and after a some calls to me and to Del Paso she refused to sign. Finally, the next day, she went to the airport of Malaga with a taxi, which cost her 130€. Del Paso claims, in case of her fault to the accident, 1300€ from het credit card. My point of view: no excess is no excess.
So, dear reader, never ever go to Del Paso.
