Seek an alternative at all costs!!!!!!!



On arrival we found a massively sloping field. We had pre-booked for just the one night (4 hike tents) so asked for a flat pitch - there was an empty flat field by the river which we figured would be lovely.



We were told "no", the sloping field it had to be.



Having walked 65 miles the previous day, we decided that this was a level of discomfort too far and asked for our money back (our "deposit" covered our whole nights fee!). The girl in reception tried to be helpful but the owner was rude and objectionable, refusing even to consider a partial refund.



Also, it was very disappointing to see disrespectful fisherman just throwing their catches back in rather than releasing them gently and humanely.



A real no-no for campers.
