“Delivery charge/service”

We ordered 2 x new sofas in July with an expected delivery date of end September. We gave strict instructions (as they will not deliver at weekends) that the only day we could accept delivery would be a Friday. Upon checking recently we were informed the date the goods were due into the warehouse was 4th October so no problem there. I received a call last Friday evening instructing me my delivery would be on Tuesday 11th October. I pointed out we can only accept delivery on a Friday to be told it would therefore be delivered on 21st October i.e. a further 3 weeks from the date of the call. As we have paid £59.00 for delivery I think this service is appalling. They won't even deliver the goods to the store where I placed the order to enable me to collect the goods myself. My neighbour recently cancelled an order with Harveys due to poor delivery service/dates. Most other companies deliver during the weekend to allow those of us who have to work for a living to be at home to accept the delivery. I feel the charge for delivery is extortionate and the level of service is non-existant.
