The only problem I had with the Free Unlocks interface was that it didn't have my older LG V495 refurbished tablet as a choice but I chose the LG 400 series and it worked.
I was very cautious when committing to $10. After paying over $100. Already to get the tablet setup as a phone and according to freedomPop website no one has ever used a V495 8" tablet on their service.
Well after 6 hours of trial and error I found that I needed to do a factory reset on my tablet before the sim card is recognized and allows data usage. It works now but I am disappointed with the service and ongoing money grubbing on a supposedly low cost phone carrier. I may just get a pay as you go sim card from one of the major carriers and only add data when I need it.
Once I got the unlock code email the first code displayed worked and then I had the problems with the device recognizing the sim card. The tablet had been locked to AT&T and when I tried to get a code from them they said it was locked in to a 2 year contract and was ineligible for unlocking.
The only other problem I had with this transaction is that when I took the sim card out and tried to shut down the tablet it kept on restarting and telling me that it needed a sim card to operate normally. When I put the old AT&T sim card back in it then shutdown.
