Medical insurance as with any insurance, you can only see the value of once you need it. I found myself diagnosed with a life threatening heart condition and went through the NHS to be treated as I went in a&e, so I wasn't sure what I could use my insurance for to be honest. After being discharged I thought best to call and see what they could do. They told me that they could have had me transferred to a private hospital for the 2 weeks I was in, which I wish I had done. But going forward I could see a cardiologist, have further tests and ongoing treatment through them. I spoke to those in the know and was told who one of the best people in the country is for my condition. I thought I would see if I could meet with him and sure enough I could with the policy. They gave me what I wanted which was great. There was some confusion regarding where I was seen by the consultant and ended up being in a hospital not fully covered by my policy. After some discussion HOL agreed to cover the one off visit but that future visits should be at the doctors other place which was the hospital that was covered. I cannot knock them except for the confusion caused with the hospitals and so would highly recommend them.
