I have owned my HW-77 for 10 years. It's a very accurate and powerful Air Rifle , and what I knew I wanted in a Air Rifle from shooting so much from a very young kid was a solid barrel ! and over time it make a heck of a difference . This is my favorite Air Rifle ever. And I have owned other's. I think the .177 cal can do a lot of damage if you have a good Rifle and strong enough air piston. I put a Scope on my Rifle and it just made it that much more fun. This Rifle has honed my marksmanship and saved me money with the price of ammo $$$. And with the .177 Air pellets your more inclined to not worry about the price and shoot longer and the HW-77 is no toy Rifle , So it feel and looks and handles like a regular Rifle. One of the reason's I bought the Air Rifle was for this purpose . The other was I like a Good Air Rifle . And I like the solid barrel . Hope this helps.
