“Groupset and wheel set upgrade”

I recently had the groupset and wheel set upgraded on my Specialized Roubaix Sport by Evans Chelmsford,and what an amazing difference this has made!

I chose an Ultegra 6800 groupset, and the store recommended the Fulcrum Racing Quattro LG Clincher 700C Road Wheelset. (I did go for the CX version which has extra seals and weighs an extra 6 gms.)

As soon as these were in store, I booked the bike in and waited eagerly for the work to be done. The difference in how the bike performed is amazing. The wheels are superb. Freewheeling on familiar roads is noticeably quicker. Gear changing is so slick and smooth. Really nice. The upgraded brakes were so different to the Tiagra. I really had to learn how to brake all over again, and use less pressure when braking.

The mechanic on handing over my bike said that I should bring it in at 3 - 400 miles for a quick check, and answered my questions. Really helpful.

I have read that getting some equipment upgrades is worthwhile doing, but I was so surprised how much of a difference this made. Thank you Evans.
