“Be Very Wary - Goldcar, Spain”

Goldcar car rental Spain.
I returned the car full with petrol, as agreed. I would then get a refund on the petrol deposit I paid. The refund was about 65Euro. I didn't receive it. After about 1 month I contacted them (easier said than done). After several emails without response I received an email to tell me they had made an error and I must send them my bank details so they can make the refund. Although I was dubious about sending my details to, what I believe to be, a company without credibility I did on the belief that it was the only way to get the refund. I did ask for a refund on PayPal but that was another email they just ignored. 1 more month and God knows how many emails that they never even responded to, I contacted an arbitrator. Suddenly they responded again saying that there was not a problem and the refund would be made. They were clearly hoping that I would forget about the money. In all it took 3 months to get my refund. And, by magic, they used the bank card given to them at the time of rental, even though they said they no longer have the info. I can not trust Goldcar, no matter how many false promises they make. If you work out how many people give up on the refund, or don't even know they were not refunded, it will give you an idea of the massive profits they make - or maybe it goes straight into the back pockets of individuals. I am thoroughly disgusted with them, their lack of honesty, their appalling customer service and their false promises. You have been warned!!
