“RIP OFF”

Took out home insurance policy with LV after looking at compare.com.
Quote was £93+ which wasn't the cheapest but being a big firm you should expect good service. After approx 2 weeks received a letter stating I owed them a further £60 as I had made a claim of accidental damage in the last 5 years. I checked my documents and this claim shows on my policy document with my premium of £93. I telephoned and asked why the extra charge, and why it is 2/3 the total cost of the overall policy.
I was informed as my claim was less than 5 years, this is what the total premium cost would be. I cancelled my policy as they would not budge. They then charged me £30 + for the privilege. I only took the policy out on 6th July. I argued they agreed the policy then changed it without notifying me. I also argued that I went back on to the consumer site and asked for two different quotes, one quote with 4 years no claims and one with 5 years no claims. Both quotes for LV came back exactly the same price at £117. This clearly shows they are ripping people off. I have contacted the complaints department and if I get no joy there I will go through the ombudsman.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY THEY ARE IN BUSINESS FOR THE MONEY ONLY.
