So we got a mortgage in principle from HSBC after being a customer for 20 years plus, undertook all the paperwork plus hours and hours of application phone calls. Their actual offers are nothing like the mortgage in principle offers even if the data provided matches or improves throughout the process. We required a 30% LTV mortgage after being customers since University, some 20 years plus. We have no debt, the required monthly mortgage payments were 1/5th of our take home salary. It took them over a month to inform us that we could not borrow our required amount, no explanation given. We will now close all of our accounts with them and move elsewhere.
