The Yamaha Beech Custom is really good sounding no matter if it's tuned hi or low and easy to tune and stays pretty good in tune. I have 8" 10" 12" 14" 16" & 22" I bought it used and I got it very very cheap.. it really is the best set i have ever had and there's no drums i haven't played. Oh yes, liked my old Sonor Phonic Plus but that was so heavy to have on jobs. These beech custom drums don't weigh a ton and thay have a good sustain, not as much as maple, that's what i like and my band loves my new sound. Sadly i haven't found a beech snare yet so atm i am just going with a maple custom 14x8 and 14x6.5 steel.
