“DO NOT Buy the additional warranty”

Nine months ago I purchaced a three and half year old Fiat 500 from Arnold Clark in West Bromwich for my daughter to learn to drive in, Fiat are not good cars anyway but she liked it. After a quick five min test drive around the block the sale was done with the extra inclusions of a two year service plan, gap insurance and a two year additional warranty, adding around £850 to the cost of the car. After a few miles it was noticed the hand brake was would not hold the car on hill starts so was taken back and fixed. A few months later the boot release would not open, taken back but was not covered under the warranty. Fixed it myself. few weeks later roof would not open, not covered by warranty, fixed it myself. few weeks later boot would not open again, not covered by warranty, different solution this time but fixed it myself. Few weeks later rear damper leaking, they needed to look at it at a charge of £85 that would be refunded if the repair was done although should be covered with warranty, I didn't proceed. Now MOT time and surprise it failed on track rod end and wear in the damper mounts, also a leaking rear damper. The leaking damper is covered by the warranty, but no its not because the damper has to be replaced anyway due to worn mountings that is not covered by the warranty. All this with only Four thousand miles since the last MOT. So to cut this long story short the warranty will not cover wearable items, and that is just about everything on a car. If you do buy from this dealer beware of the warranty, you can get a better and more honest warranty from an independent company if you search on line.
