“Called WMS group and told I had problems with clutch...”

Called WMS group and told I had problems with clutch on my old Zafira. They told me to take it to local garage to be assessed luckily the local garage told me straight away that they will not pay for it they will tell it is wear and tear ?????
I asked him Can i drive the car? replied No it's not safe
I kept driving my car at a low speed on town only as the whole job cost the price of the car if i pay for it myself.
few months later called them again explained that it is now worse than before and the car is not almost not moving at all
the guy said ok because the clutch was worn and you kept driving the car you made it worse so we will not pay for the repair
how come they did not admit the fault in the first place then blame me for driving the car
they actually want the part to completely fail or break the way they want it(something that you have no control no how will it happen)
if the part needs replacing then it must be replaced according the the garage advice i will not wait until i get an accident
Every excuse is either,"part not covered" or as above "wear and tear".
Very disappointed
