reliable
simple to use
has enough buttons on the unit that it can be used without a remote

Bad Points
Dvd's with missaplied labels can cause it to vibrate and buzz

General Comments
we've had this alba dvd player for about 7 years now and the other day my wife melted the remote control. I weighed up getting a new player, but this one has been so reliable I decided to buy a replacement remote. I can't recommend this player enough, if you pick one up cheap a simple code makes it region free and it never has a problem playing anything. I have another cheaper player ( £15 from tescos) and that one skips and rejects dvd's all the time. A great reliable bit of kit
