We made a hotel booking for 3 rooms through booking.com for Vista Rooms in Calungate, Goa.
Booking.com confirmed the booking in writing.
On arriving at the hotel we were told the hotel had no record of our booking and was fully booked.
We were stuck with no accommodation and booking.com provided no help in finding suitable alternatives and have not replied to any emails or notes submitted on their website since.
We subsequently had to find a last minute alternative on our own paying double the cost for a worse hotel.
This is appalling customer service and could have been a safety concern for people stuck with no accommodation in an unknown country.
The hotel staff confirmed that they had experienced this before with booking.com and that in the future we should use expedia.com as a reputable supplier.
