Whatever you do, do not use Budget Insurance. If you need to change car and /or cancel half way through they will charge on a sliding scale of percentage which gets higher as the policy goes on.

They also have total control over your payments as they like to take your card details which means you or your bank cannot block the payments. If you do need to get in touch be prepare to wait and use this number instead of the 0844 number:01733 845845.

The call centre is based in Cape Town and the call centre staff are prepared for an argument (in fact I think they get off on it).

I had to pay £400 to cancel my policy after getting a company car, and they were only to eager to tell lies about laws in the UK. Take notes, take names and let them know you are recording the conversation and that you are fully aware of the law and your rights. This company are rogues, be prepared.
