After viewing all of the different kitchens on offer, from B&Q, Wren, Homebase, Wicks, Magnet and Optiplan. We decided to go with Optiplan as they are based in Basingstoke and seemed to be very professional, even if they were the most expensive!
I had my own fitters, which Optiplan did question and try to put us off in order to book their own. Yet who I chose had brilliant reviews and over 30 years experience!
So after measuring up twice and double checking everything we placed the order, when they hit you with a delivery charge of over £300, when you agree to pay them over £14000 for the kitchen!!!....Damn cheek !
So after all the planning and the cost our new kitchen was delivered. When our fitters started to put our kitchen in, they realised that the double oven housing was too tall, as we have an RSJ going across our kitchen extension........Which Mathew our designer forgot !!!.....When we told him he didn't believe us !....Only relenting when he looked at the plans again ! He said we had to wait 4 weeks for another one to be made!!! So you pay for a made to measure kitchen, for it NOT to measure up!....(For any other damages to doors ect. You still have to wait 4 weeks !)
Thankfully my kitchen fitter was able to cut the housing down to size, which meant we had to wait for a new door, otherwise I wouldn't have a kitchen!
Also with the RSJ intruded on opening cupboard doors which again he failed to notice!
So after a fight Optiplan agreed to pay a paltry £300 compo!......I just glad OUR fitters knew what they were doing.
My advice......STAY AWAY !....And save a few quid as well!
