“Waste of time & money, they take your money and leave...”

Since I have had any involvement with Bennett’s as an insurance company I have been massively disappointed, let down and financially out of pocket.

My policy which I initially took out in March 2015 was cancelled by them because they said that they hadn’t received my proof of no claims bonus – which I had actually sent them. They had cancelled it but strangely enough hadn’t sent me a refund through! Anyway, I thought for them to cancel my policy and then let me know via letter a few days later was a seriously careless, disrespectful risky thing to do. Had I have been in an accident or pulled over by the police I would have been riding without insurance. They had my phone number and email address yet they did not think to notify me by these, instead they let me know by the slowest means possible -This is ridiculous.

The second incident which I would like to inform you of is an accident which I was in last year. I was hit on my motorbike by a man in a 4x4 vehicle. I was under the impression that the driver of the 4x4 hit me deliberately, so Bennett’s done nothing for me in regards to repairs or curtousy bike. Infact it took over 2 months for Bennett’s to get back to me to ask about repairing the damage to my bike, by which time i had already spent the time and money resolving the damage caused by the third party at my own expense.

To make things worse, the “legal” cover I paid for on my policy also failed to help me as they said that the matter “may be a criminal offence” – to which I found no evidence in my legal cover policy that said I would not be covered by them in this event. I made numerous calls to the legal company to discuss this with them, but every person I spoke to on the phone would either tell me there was nobody available to speak to discuss the matter, or they would deliberately cut me off the call.

I made a complaint to yourself (Bennett’s) about the legal cover not assisting me – only to be told that the legal cover was a separate company and I had to deal with them. I disagree with this, as I paid for legal cover through Bennett’s insurance – so you provided me with that insurance and legal policy, therefore you should have taken some responsibility in the matter.

The third issue I have is, my policy end date was 7.3.2016. I called up you (Bennett’s) a week prior to this to cancel the policy. The idiot I spoke to when I cancelled the policy did not cancel the policy like he said he would – and therefore I have had the money go out my bank account in full for a policy I called and cancelled a week ago.

So after all of the failures and let downs from Bennett’s (which I have paid the privilege for) I then try and sever all ties with you, and I can’t even do that properly because you cant even cancel a policy properly!

Oh, and I thought you should know that last year’s premium for my policy with Bennett’s was £162.67 and this year you have put it up to £247.00 which is a disgrace and one of the many reasons why I wanted to cancel. I have had a quote of £114.00 for the same level of cover from elsewhere.

So in a nut shell, Bennett’s are by far the worst insurance company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. With no uncertain term will I ever use them again, and I will forever tell people about my experiences and ensure that they loose business and credibility.
