“Bad Workmanship Abounds”

Made the Big mistake of engaging CR Smith to replace 6 windows and two doors. Work was to start 11/06/2014 and last three days.T/M on !0th, would not be attending on
11th but would start on 12th and complete 13th.I was advised this would not alter quality of work as they allow 3 but normally complete in 2.Alarm Bells.Should have gone with initial instinct to cancel.In the first few weeks a door was so badly fitted, it would not lock.Another door would not stay closed: latch sticking.These items were fixed:but not immediately.Rendering was damaged. Total mismatch of colour following several attempts to reinstate.Holes left not filled.Dark grey, like ordinary cement when it should have been light grey.They then attempted to fill the holes with Brown silicone.These attempts resembled the actions of a child working with brown plastacine.Certain members of this group thought this was fine.They then decided to cover all their previously failed attempts with plastic edging.One of their group was opposed to this.The house still carries the scars of their poor work.All internal sills off the level in one or both directions.Silicone on top of debris.Recently on opening door air could be heard.Quickly fxed. More silicone.Now evident in another room.One star as some staff do try to help.May do some good work. I have not seen it.Use at your own risk and ask around.Lots of time off work!
