I've just been to see this show last night for my birthday. I'm a late developer for seeing theatre, not because I was against it, I'm a 47 year old bloke, open minded, but with no real impetus to make those theatrical visits as I lived in Wales for 45 years, whooping it up with 'proper' rock music to get me through and obviously thinking that Spice Girls music was rubbish. But Mel C has played her part in culturally educating me. Who'd have thought! She was real, emotional, warm, talented and fab in this role. I'd take my hat off to her if I wore one! Supporting cast was excellent too. Throw off those pre-conceived notions if you have any, Mel C always could sing a bit - you knew that, so go and see this and be mightily impressed as you witness her finding her niche.
