I have banked with Cater Allen, formerly Robert Flemings, for well over 20 years. Alas since the takeover by Abbey, now Santandeer the service has gradually declined and it's hard to distinguish it against many other banking organisations. When you telephone you are always directed to the website. A whiney female voice like nails down a blackboard will greet you and suggest you log on to their site. If you'd wanted the website presumably you wouldn't have phoned in the first place!



Unlike Flemings who were based in Romford, you rarely get to speak to the same person twice. It seems most of the call centre staff are either students or part time workers. Drop 1 penny below a £5000 balance and you'll be charged £15 per month for the privilege of banking with them! They also pay no interest on credit balances. I'd recommend you look elsewhere for your banking services. It's such a shame that another great name,ie Robert Flemings, has gone to the dogs.
