“Great holiday”

written by Geovanniv297 on 06/02/2016

Just returned from a great holiday in The Gambia staying at the holiday beach hotel. The hotel was basic and served the most basic breakfast iv'e ever had. Cereal bread processed ham and cheese and portions of very ripe bananas. Everything else had to be paid for. Eggs worked out about £1.80 each.the actual hotel is also down a dirt track road which takes about 10 mins to walk from the gate at the main road which has lights but is still quite dark at night time when returning in. There is security at the gate. There is also a gate and steps leading down to the beach at the back of the hotel which has a security guard at night. The staff at this hotel are fabulous apart from 2 staff members who worked on the bar and another whose name I can't remember who worked on reception who were always a bit too friendly if you get my drift.
We stayed in block B and quite possibly the only guest who weren't returning. Everyone we spoke to had stayed there several times and absolutely loved it.The whole of our block were without hot water for 5 days and we all complained and got the same answer that it would be fixed that day.
The local bumsters can be a pain as they never give up trying to latch onto you for money offering to take you anywhere you wanted to go.Location is great right on the strip. Unfortunately my friend foolishly put her iPhone in her pocket and she got pickpocketed so beware you really need your wits about you. Couples didn't get as much hassle ass females but to be fair there were many single white females a bit long in the tooth with a young Gambian on their arm.
Go with an open mind and take it for what it is. Fantasy island where everything's for sale. We had a ball and laughed til we cried.
No problems what so ever with Love Holidays and would use them again
