“Royal Hotel Whitby”

Paid for upgrade room nice and clean problem on the coldest weekend of 2016 heating not working complained and two heaters found but still not enough especially when cleaner turned them of and opened the window, the hot water was just tepid when we wanted to shower this was every evening the only time the hot water was OK was 07.00 in the morning or 15.00 in the afternoon,complained to management who come to the room and tried to convince my wife that the water was warm after she had been frozen, got the idea that this was a practised action when we disagreed we was accused of being agresive and she ran for the hills.
The food breakfast was fine, the evening meal was poor soup glutinous mess that we struggled to identify from its description,frozen chain store mains, veg was fresh but not quality controlled we had black new potatoes one evening.
Entertainment was ok but we took the company with us, overall very poor 3 stars are overrated told by Quality Assured that membership had lapsed some time ago, Hotel chain are not members of quality assured who give the star ratings.
