“Expedia and Singapore Airlines ”

I booked a holiday online last Saturday through Expedia (Singapore Airlines flights). They instantly HOLD the money on my daughters CCard, however the booking did not go through?

I rang Expedia and they assured me the money would be released back to my daughters card within 48hrs (as it was the weekend) and I finalised our holiday using my Visa/debit card. The funds were instantly HOLD on my card and I received all the official emails confirming my booking.

That Wednesday whilst trying to use my this card I realise I was heavily overdrawn?? and went directly to my bank - who discovered that Singapore Airlines had not only HOLD the flight costs on this card they had double dipped and had taken the flights costs again directly from my card that morning. Leaving the original HOLD in place. This had made me nearly $3000 overdrawn. My bank stated they couldn't help me I had to go back through Expedia.

An hour on the phone to an offshore call centre - speaking to a lady with a script made me furious and I was finally passed onto the manager. Who stated he would Fax the banks involved and notify them to release the funds. Of course this either didn't happen or didn't have effect ???? I believe possible the former.

By Friday nearly one week - the monies are still in HOLD on our accounts and the holiday has been paid for in full.

I ring Expedia again - and have the same script read to me of the Expedia work etc - "you are not listening to me !!!!!! I do not need your script I need someone to fix this so I can buy food and pay my rent!!!"

They promise to phone back !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Of course you know .... this didn't happen!

In between our banks can't help us - auto release takes 7-10 days and they had not received any faxes!!!!!

So I call Expedia again. They say they tried to call me ... I have no missed calls. The state that Singapore Airlines cannot see the HOLD's and I need to send SA pictures of my statements.

I ask for SA number and am given it with a firm - send an email you will auto receive a case number then ring them with the case number.

I send a full and frank email with the images attached showing clearly the HOLDS on our accounts.

I receive no case number - surprise!!!!

I call them direct - and as I am a little frayed by this time the person talking to me becomes rude as I tell him this is disgusting that he can't help me without my case number as the emails have not been allocated to officers yet !!!!!!! I explain it is Friday and the weekend the banks are shut and I have no money and I have bills, rent and need some food and fuel to get to work - AND I AM NOW PAYING OVERDRAWN FEES TO THE BANK etc .... he just pushes me off the phone by telling me to call back in half an hour when I will have received my case number !!!

Of course its now Saturday and I am still waiting for the case number !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel like crying - its a disgraceful way to run a business.
