Good Points
What really pulls you in is that it features all new touch-screen features, which has never before been seen on a hand-held console. It also has the graphical power to surpass the N64 in visual effects and has no loading time. It has LAN capabilities for wireless multi-player action and could even be used in future to surf the internet! Aswell as all this, it can also play all your GBA games! Cool!
Bad Points
The touch screen can take some time getting used to though, and it can only play your GBA games in single player mode. It cannot link up with the Nintendo Gamecube or the GBA, only another system. It also cannot play any original Gameboy or Gameboy Colour games.
General Comments
Ah, the Nintendo DS, where to start? I've got to say, Nintendo have really outdone themselves this time, clever chaps. Firstly, the graghics, thanks to a powerful Panasonic drive, I am pleased to say they are EXCELLENT!!! But where the graphics really shine, are in racing games. You could be a Ferrari, a Honda, a Ford, it still doesn't matter they all look dazzling! The gleam, the reflections, the shines, every little detail is perfected. And don't wet your pants if you don't like racing games, the other genres look amazing too. Take Super Mario 64 DS. It looks better than it did on the N64, but with twist and new features to the game. And since all DS games have no loading time, you won't have to wait years before they load. Then theres the speakers, high quality surround sound every time you play. Did I mention the built in microphone? Oh yes and the touch screen, not the best of ideas but it's a hit with me. Though does take some time getting used to. The wi-fi capabilities means a wide range of multi DS play and picto-chat. What is picto-chat I hear you cry, it's like a chatroom, but you can draw (with the touch screen pen) in it.
In conclusion, the DS will give you centuries of fun, and is well worth your money!
