“Don't touch them with a barge pole”

written by Disappointed_of_Gloucestershire on 05/11/2015

If you would like my advice then steer well clear of this company. Their business model is immoral and the company clearly has no regard for customer service at all.

I purchased 4 tickets to see Michael McIntyre in August 2014 as a suprise birthday present for my wife. It only became clear that the tickets were for 2015 when I had just about completed the purchase, but I decided to go ahead as I could suprise my wife this year even though Get Me In added an extortionate admin charge of over £40.00.
However, the company let me down good and proper by failing to supply me with any tickets this year, and, what is more, only let me know the day before, so giving me no time to sort something else out for my wife. The representative in Customer Services explained that the company provided an outlet for people to sell their unwanted tickets and so they could not be held responsible if the tickets were not available as promised. My argument was that the tikcets were offered for sale over 1 year before the event so it was unlikely the seller had actually decided the tickets were unwanted that far ahead and so they should not have been offered for sale. I can only assume the offer of the tickets was purely speculative in case the seller had some left, but then found in reality that they had managed to sell their complete allocation. Either that or they never had them anyway.
I asked Get Me In for compensation for the loss of interest on the full amount and my wife's disappointment at the loss of her birthday present. Get Me In explained that, according to their terms and conditions, they were only liable for 100% of the price paid for the tickets and so would provide a refund within an additional 12 - 15 days. I explained that the Ts & Cs may say their liability is 100% but that is hardly the right policy for a company that cares for its customers and values their custom. Furthermore, Get Me In have had the use of my money for over 1 year and so they should at least pay interest on the amount, just as they would have had to do if they had borrowed the money from a bank. This fell on deaf ears and they refunded me just the 100% and took thier time in doing so.
In my honest opinion, this company should not be in business with this business model - it is immoral and their Ts & Cs are completly one sided and blatantly unfair.
