“Unreliable, shady sellers using a shady website.”

written by Bastet2015 on 22/10/2015

Unreliable, shady sellers using a shady, uncontactable website which falsifies seller ratings.

I've never really used iOffer before because it always looked a bit shady to me.

I decided to give it a go because a discontinued DVD box set was listed there and I desperately wanted it for my collection. I carefully read the sellers listing (crosstoys), and was happy to see that he accepted PayPal. In fact, his listing stating he ONLY took PayPal. This made me feel more comfortable ordering, because PayPal really has your back (see my review :P).

Anyway, I ordered the boxset and was disappointed to find that there was no option to pay by PayPal. I did not feel comfortable giving my VISA debit details, so I messaged the seller.

The good thing about iOffer is it tells you when the seller was last online. Every day for seven days I e-mailed the seller asking how I could pay by PayPal as advertised. Every day for seven days he ignored me, but he was regularly online.

After the arbitrary seven days, I left negative feedback. Weeks later and my feedback still isn't live and is mysteriously absent from the sellers feedback list. There is NO option to view only negative feedback, or to sort feedback in order of bad to good. Very convenient for the sellers and for iOffer (if you make it impossible to find negative feedback, more people are likely to be impressed by the lack of negative feedback on view and order anyway).

After 10 days I messaged iOffer to ask why my feedback was not live on the feedback page. No reply. A week later I e-mailed again. No reply.

So now my experience boils down to:
- Seller lies on profile about accepting PayPal.
- Seller ignores order and ignores your e-mails.
- Negative feedback is censored from the site and cannot be seen.
- Negative feedback cannot be filtered or sorted into view.
- iOffer themselves ignore your customer service tickets.

Shady, dodgy sellers working on a shady, dodgy, censored, dictatorial website.

Will forward to an American version of Trading Standards.
