I booked, by 'phone, a van for one day at the Hamilton branch. When booking, and having been quoted an attractive price, I asked "was everything included, were there any other charges?". I was informed that everything was included.
Imagine my surprise then when having arrived to collect the van and paid the bill I was informed that I was liable for a £1400 excess if the vehicle was involved in a collision regardless of fault. I could however reduce this amount to £250 by paying a £25 fee. OK so it's optional but what an option! So my rental cost almost twice what I had budgeted for.
My disappointment with Enterprise is that I was informed that everything was covered, I should have been informed that I was liable for a £1400 charge wither or not I was at fault. A wee bit unethical I think.
The service was slick and polite and the van was perfect.
I was offered 20% off my next hire to compensate for my disappointment.
