I too took out the 'lifetime' policy. I have never had to claim before but when my dog turned 5 he was diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease. He had some tests which I claimed for due to the high cost. My premium was about £40 a month.

Ive today had a letter too saying the underwriters have changed. My premium has gone up to £114 per month (that's nearly a 300% increase!!) and they will now only pay a further £3k for his lifetime towards any inflammatory bowel disease related issues! What a joke! You pay for lifetime cover for just that. Avoid like the plague!!!
