“I wouldn't change a thing.”

The brief was a kitchen to suit all the family. My husband fancied a bar (lol) I am a keen cook and baker so it needed to be practical but we have two children with special needs. One of my sons has autism and so safety was a key point. The ovens are not hot to touch from the outside and the induction hob only works when the magnet is located, also the down draft extractor doubles as child block from the hob. Stops hands touching hot pans. Then there is my other son, who has severe Cerebral Palsy, I really wanted something special for him too. It needed to be visual as he has very limited movement. Lighting was the answer... Lots of lights... Lots of colour... and I wanted the lights to change colour at my control. Optiplan were eager to help with this unusual request, nothing was to much trouble and I know they spent many hours working on it.. there are hundreds of metres of lighting hid away from sight.. Under plinths.. Cut into the underside of the worktops under cupboards, above cupboards even behind the glass shelving. Here's the cool thing, they all talk to each other, I have complete control through a remote control. I can have any colour I want including normal white lighting or I can put on a special mode. A beautiful room of rainbow colours slowly moving around. Which again I can control the speed and vibrancy of. They love it. It gives the neighbours something to talk about too, I've been stopped many times only to be asked "does your kitchen change colour?" And then "that's awesome"

I asked Optiplan for a family kitchen, they designed, built and fitted one. The service has been fantastic from the start to finish. My kitchen has been in now for 12 months and couldn't be more pleased with it. I wouldn't change a thing.
