“GoldCar Bordeaux ”

Am writing a review for this company since I had virtually no problems with them, and considering the amount of bad press they are getting here - I will do my bit to clean up their poor image!

I picked up my Car from GoldCar Bordeaux on the 12th of August. Though they only had one staff member on desk he was efficient and spoke English very well. No hassle, just had to pay my car + fuel deposit. (FYI I booked through rentalcars.com who pestered me to take out insurance so I did - but if you wait and take out insurance at the desk you wont have to pay the £950 deposit. Though the rental cars premium is cheaper it only works out at a couple more pounds a day.)

Car ran well and they kindly threw in a built in SatNav (maybe because they had no other car!). It had one big scratch before I picked it up, so the guy at the desk said check the car & any scratches call me, so I did and he noted it. When I dropped the car back 10 days later I spoke to the gentleman in the lot and he checked me out with full tank etc, and I mentioned the scratch was on the car before I got it. Pas problem, he said. Bonus. I had a sinking feeling that they might sting me for the scratch after I left, but nope.

The only slight blemish was that I had to call them to retrieve my deposit. It had just about been the end of the 10 day reimbursement period (two days ago) so I called to follow up and I got an email this morning saying they have returned the money - so now I wait with baited breath for it to arrive HOPEFULLY by today.

Overall pretty happy with the service, all being well.
