I have a mortgage via UCB, which is owned by Nationwide Building Society.
After the Building Society decided they had calculated my mortgage wrong, they upped the payments by about 10%.
Immediately I contacted them to state I could to afford these payments, what could they do?
They ignored everything I asked for. Can you reduce the interest rate? UCB is 5.29% and Nationwide is 3.99% at standard variable rate, so there is room for manoeuvre. Nope, they can't do that.
Every option I offered them, no good. Can't do. I just have to pay.
Can I extend the mortgage, so I pay less per month. Nope, because we don't think you can afford the *lower* payments, so we want to keep taking the higher one.
They are no help at all. They advertise their 24-hour Twitter support, but they just block you. Still awaiting their response from 9 months ago on Facebook too.
I now have to sell the house. Leaving me homeless.
Do not trust this bank at all. They are absolutely useless.
They called the police on me. I have letters about my complaint from Nationwide themselves. Another letter from the Financial Ombudsman responds to my complaint with a FOS reference number. When I call to ask for help, they can't do anything, because there are "No complaints on the system".
This is worst company I have ever dealt with. A mortgage company that can't calculate a mortgage. Then, won't help when you can't afford their stupidly high rates they trap you in.
