“Dont do it!”

Well reading these reviews i dont understand where it all went wrong for me. I saw a Golf advertised with Stockport car supermarket travelled that day to look at it (2nd August). Test drove it and fell in love. Went through the bits that needed doing on the car, scratches/dents that needed doing, trims that had broke they agreed to repair and we agreed on a collection date of the 9th August. Unable to get we travelled down on the 12th only to find on arriving nothing had been done. After much discussion we agreed a new price and i would drive away as was. not even a mile down the road it wouldn't drive. We got it back to them and they said they would send it to the garage to be looked at. We are now on the 24th August - 22 days since i paid for the car and i havent got it yet. I was promised it would be delivered due to the inconvenience i had habut we keep phoning and keep getting fobbed off with reasons they havent been able to deliver it. Latest phone call today "Do you need it soon" i wouldn't have bought the car if i didnt need it!!
The gent who originally sold it me wasn't in when i intially went to collect so a different sales man dealt with me, i felt rushed and he even went to deal with a different customer whilst trying to sort things out with me, i found him unprofessional and rude especially as i was picking up a vehicle that we had already purchased, he even phoned his partner whilst taking my final payment and dealing with the remaining paperwork to say he wouldn't be long he was running late! If i did this in my job i dont think i would still be in it!
Best bit about it you have to tax it there and then so i have paid out for something i'm not able to drive yet. It is getting to a point where i am actually considering just asking for my money back and they can keep the car.
Overall i wouldn't recommend this sales forecourt, i wish i had never bothered with them.
