“Disgraceful Company”

On the beach took £1,688.50 from my account and then told me that the hotel that we had booked was no longer available. I was then told that it would take 4-5 days to refund my money. I have no other funds; I had saved up for over a year to take my 7 year old daughter on holiday. The reason why we booked it last minute was because I was still saving and also hoped to get a cheaper last minute deal. I had to tell my 7 year old daughter that she could no longer have a summer holiday because the holiday company had taken our holiday money and that it was going to take 4-5 days to give us the money back. This was the only time I had off because I care for my elderly mum and dad and had organised respite care for this time. When I asked to speak to a manager the sales assistant refused and told me that I had to email a request for a manager to call me back. I emailed the customer services number he gave me and I got an automated response saying that my complaint would be dealt within 28 days. This company is an utter disgrace. They should not have taken my money without confirming that the hotel that I had requested was available, and then to say that I would not get my money back for another 4-5 days, without the option to book something else with another company is disgusting. My daughter is in tears. On The Beach is a disgraceful company. Go elsewhere; there are many other tour operators.
