Good Points
Built to last used by foreign armed forces to go through the most challenging terrain, very very reliable, easy to maintain, a solid build which i have no problem driving every day with my family safe in it. good fuel ecconomy for is weight and size compared to others.

Bad Points
rear end sagging can look tired but can be cured by replacing spring which are cheap £150 for a go set
rear drop glass window motor are a common cause cost to do is about £110 for a garage labour and parts all in
the only design fault is it could do with a twin sun roof which can be done by a specialist or good mechanic for around £200.

General Comments
I have had a number off 4x4's. its took alot of time/ money and man hours to find the right one for me. From range rover vogues to ford explorers. I have now had two Toyota Hilux Surf the 2.5 and my current one 3.0td SSRG, the best off roader i have seen, the most reliable i have seen and the best value for money.

going to work every morning not have to worry if it will start,

driving around shopping with my wife and 3 kids lots of room,

travelling abroad with cruise control and a good seat position

a high ground clearance and good powertrain = great off road
