“Moved in beginning of July, paid first month rent in...”

Moved in beginning of July, paid first month rent in advance and was given standing order form which clearly starts from 28th August. However on the 4th August I received an email from the senior property manager at the Winchester branch that my rent was late! When I said I thought the form started late August, but if I'm wrong I'd be happy to pay by transfer that day, I got a blunt "No it's due on the first of every month" and that was it. Sent a picture of the form which says 28th August and now not had a reply! Will not leave it there
