Good Points
Fast, comfortable, good looks (distinctive Italina design), stable at high speed, superior breaking, adjustable suspension, thorough instrument panel, good storage under seat.
Bad Points
Right side mirrors vibration (could not eliminate), occasional front brake noise, seat closing lock fails occasionnally (locket goes to closed position on first try to close the seat and must use screwdriver to pry open latchet) I think the locket spring is weak. Tends to heat up in traffic jam but fan effective at cooling.
General Comments
I have a 2006 X9 evo bought in early 2007 (6200 $ cad), canadian model so no radio or automatic center stand. About 5 000 km. Changed front brake pads once as I am a little hard on the brakes. Died once as battery failed due to unclean battery connection, which I cleaned and have had no problem since. Battery tender on during the winter storage period (wired throught the under seat storage electrical outlet) so no problem starting in the spring. Have not had any problems other than punctured flat tires. Wife finds it comfortable in the rear. Added the piaggio back rest which gives her more security. I am thrilled with the X9 and would recommend it. Contrary to some comments here I have an excellent dealer close to home. Too bad the X9 is discontinued.
