“Inflated price due to "proximity to moving date"”

Very professional service for quotation and viewing. Customer adviser was knowledgeable and pleasant.

However, final written quote took 3 weeks to receive from initial enquiry and was then THREE TIMES the initial quoted online price. Apparently this price increase was due to the "proximity to moving date" of the quote and it was stated that the pricing gets more expensive the less notice of a move they have - "like an airline".

Concept is flawed; if they did not want our business - it may have been too small a job - I wish they would have just said so instead of quoting £4000 for a 2 bedroom house move over 100 miles that took 3 weeks to make, placing me at a now disadvantage with other removal firms. (The initial online quote was for approx £1200 and no details were changed with adviser's written quote).
