We visited Harry Ramsdens Scarborough,
Just sent this to Trading Standards:
To whom it may concern,
My wife and I had my brother and his wife visit us last weekend I took them for lunch at the restaurant on the sea front.
We ordered 4 fish & chip meals (2 cod 2 haddock) which we waited almost 30 mins to receive, I was absolutely flabbergasted to see what arrived at the table.
Frozen Chips (poorly cooked some frazzled and some soggy).
Supermarket style processed fish portions (with bones slimy fish and soggy batter underneath).
Bright green mushy peas exactly the same colour and taste as the tinned product.
Most of the meals were left unfinished the whole serving was tasteless, we decided not to raise the matter with the teenage staff, clearly they would not be capable of producing fresh Fish & Chips when they are quite obviously only supplied with processed fast food to cook with.
For this we were charged over £40.00 the most expensive Fish & Chips I have encountered in Scarborough to date.
As far as I am concerned they are giving the public the wrong impression of what they are serving in this restaurant.
they are quite clearly deceiving the paying public into believing they will enjoy the world famous Harry Ramsdens fish & chip experience, this is declared on all their advertising literature, their website, and even on the tourist board site. this will need to be stopped, they are serving pre-processed frozen supermarket low quality food under false pretences.
