“Unscrupulous in dealing with vulnerable people”

written by on 14/07/2015

My very eldery relative received "free gift pack" through the door. I noticed they quoted that it cost him £2.99 and if he did not cancel it would be an annual fee of £69.99.

I called to query this and was told "he must have agreed to this". When I asked when I was told it was in the last two weeks. Firstly, he's 91 and would have no idea what they were talking about, secondely he's partially deaf so wouldn't have understood anyway; thirdly in the timespan he was supposed to have ordered this we were otherwise engaged making funeral arrangement and burying his wife.

Was told if I wanted to cancel needed to send it all back and they would send me envelope to do so - still waiting for it. Nor would they refund his £2.99.
Also, legislation they quote for distance learning is over a year out of date.
