My elderly parents needed a new cooker so I purchased one from the Currys website based on the details from the one they liked in the Hove shop.
I travelled on the day the cooker was to be delivered and arrived to see the wrong item. My elderly parents chose the model that suits their needs and physical limitations. The main reason for the trip was to help them save money on the fitting and disposal so I was suitably disappointed to see the wrong item. My parents too were very upset. We then drove to the Hove branch to find out what went wrong and that was when the mis-labelling was spotted. By this stage it was too late for a replacement to be delivered in time for it to be fitted and so we had to arrange to book a fitter for the correct cooker, something that was going to cost additional money. All this because of a mistake in store by Currys. All they offered was £20 off the fitting; not a free fitting or an apology for the debacle. This represents very poor service. To compound all of this the fitters showed up a day early fitted the cooker so that it did not line up to the work top and then left a 90 year old woman to tidy up after them. We have since found out that Knowhow and Currys are two separate companies something that the shop assistant did not tell us also he said that the computer would not allow then to give discount but after much discussion we managed to get the cooker for the same price as the internet plus £20 discount.
