I booked a full size car VW Passat on line weeks before my holiday but the day before I was due to pick the car up they rang me and told me I was getting a VW golf but no matter how you stretch a golf it is no way similar to a Passat?
They then told me it was in the same category because it had a bigger engine? but obviously its not the same size on the outside has a Passat has there web site suggest.
They was either trying to fob me off with a smaller car or trying to put me in a prestige car which they said would cost me £1 extra a day but to bring the excess down in a prestige car is a lot more money a day then the full sized one I had already booked. So either way they was trying to make me loose or cost me more money.
Why didn't you just say I am a bad manager and I am sorry I do not have the car you booked weeks ago in stead of trying to fob me off and change the subject by saying I was talking to loud? (Typical call center training to try to end the call) Hulls woman manager just hung up!
Obviously I was talking loud because you just left it last minute to tell me and potentially ruined my holiday I have not got the car I booked. You thought you had me in a corner and I would have no choice but to take anything you offered!
You knew you had not got the car I wanted/booked or you wouldn't have rang me before I was due to pick it up.
If Thrifty does not expect customers to get upset you should do it right in the first place and not have a web site that is very miss leading according customer services excuses saying it in the same class.
On there web site a VW golf is advertised as a standard car not a full size one.
They said I will get a full refund but will take 10 days to put back on my card, what a joke.
I am now left with hours to go before my holiday to try to find a hire car,
THANKS FOR NOTHING THRIFTY AND YES I AM TYPING LOUD ;0)
