We had a car in May 2015 for 7 days.
My wife and I handed the driving licenses at the counter, then specified it's only me, the man, who would be added as a driver, after we found out we will be charged around 12 euros per day for the second driver.
So we politely declined having a second driver added.
The lady understood and she specifically said 'one driver only'. Then we have been given the contract agreement and that was it.
When we returned the car, we weren't made aware of any charges. They took the contract agreement and that was it.
Back in the UK we found out we have been charged for the second driver, almost £100. Contacted them by email, they were extremely rude and unprofessional, refusing to process the refund. They're replied very late, or have not replied at all. Had to spend hours trying to find someone to deal with the problem.
We are obviously a bit frustrated, we would never use Hertz again. The money was taken fraudulently from my account, it is basically theft.
Stay away from Hertz.
